The Sea And Cake entstanden Mitte der neunziger in Chicago aus den lokalen Größen "The Coctails" and "Shrimp Boat". Da aus Chicago erstklassiger Jazz kommt und man ja fast zwangsläufig dort mit Jazz aufwächst, nahm auch die Band diese Einflüsse in ihre Musik mit auf.
Seit Mitte der 90'er sind sie regelmäßig auf Tour und konnten sich eine getreue Base erspielen bis sie sich 2004 zur Ruhe setzten und erst 2007 aufrafften um ein neues Album aufzunehmen und eine Tour zu starten.
Indie-Rock mit Jazz - klingt komisch is aber nen klasse Mix!
