Ataxia besteht aus einigen namenhaften Artists, u.a John Frusciante (früher RHCP), Joe Lally von Fugazi und Josh Klinghoffer von The Bicycle Thief. Die 3 bilden dieses Sideproject der Musiker. Bisher hat die Band nur 2 Alben und auch nur 2 Shows gespielt, was wohl daran liegt, dass sie alle genug mit ihren hauptberuflichen Projekten zu tun haben.
