Two Gallants eine der wenigen Bands, die es schafft mit nur 2 Mitgliedern einen Sound zu erschaffen, der nach voller Indie-Band Montur klingt. Stephens und Vogel kommen aus San Francisco und machen seit ihrem 12. Lebensjahr zusammen Musik, bis sie sich 2002 auf Two Gallants einigten und erste Gigs spielten. Ihr Debutalbum kam in den Staaten so gut an, dass das große Label Saddle Creek sie signte und somit den Aufstieg der Band begründete.
